Planning to enter a photography competition?
Before you press "Submit", let us help you make your entry as strong as possible:
Unlike a traditional portfolio review, this service focuses on a specific competition submission. We carefully analyze the project, edit, sequencing, image selection, artist statement, captions, and overall presentation with one goal in mind: helping you create the strongest possible entry.
Over the years, Gomma has reviewed and judged tens of thousands of submissions from photographers worldwide through the Gomma Photography Grant, Gomma Black & White Awards, GOMMA Get Published! and numerous publishing projects.
In addition, our directors are regularly invited to serve on the juries of international photography competitions, giving us direct insight into how submissions are evaluated and what makes a project stand out. We know what juries look for, what common mistakes weaken otherwise strong work, and how a submission can be improved before it reaches the judges.
Our review includes:
• Detailed assessment of the project's strengths and weaknesses • Image selection and editing recommendations • Sequencing and presentation advice • Feedback on artist statements and supporting texts • Suggestions to improve clarity, impact, and originality • Honest evaluation of the project's competitiveness
Please note that no review can guarantee success in a competition. However, a carefully prepared submission can significantly increase the chances of standing out from the crowd.
Whether you are entering a major international award, a grant, a residency, or a photo-book competition, this review is designed to help you submit your work with confidence and at its highest potential.
Give your project the best possible chance before it reaches the jury.
